I've already got my heart set on getting a new pair of glasses. There are too many choices out there, really. I'm always drawn to pairs with big, thick plastic frames, and lately I've been loving tortoise or lighter shades rather than black. How to Tie a Loopty-Loop Circle Scarf

One of my favorite accessories to wear is the loopty-loop circle scarf. I'm not really sure if I just made that name up, but it's the best way I can describe this look. The loopty-loop circle scarf is pretty easy to tie and you can use almost any type of scarf, from long skinny ones to giant rectangular scarves. Each will create a different look and a new fun way to wear your favorite scarf.

1. Tie the ends of the scarf together into a nice little knot so you have one giant circle scarf.
2. Put the giant circle scarf around your neck.
3. Grab both sides of the scarf and pull each side in the opposite direction so you create a second circle in front of you.
4. Place your head through the second circle.
5. Fluff out the scarf and style the circles how you want. I like to place the knot higher up and off to the side.
6. Enjoy wearing and styling a new look!

Style Post: I'm All About the Scarves

I'm all about scarves this week. Why do I love them? Because they are one of the easiest ways to jazz up a bag, neck, hair-do, or complete outfit.

Earlier this week I wrote about how I'm craving more unique silk and vintage scarves. And that's where this post comes in! I found this adorable silk scarf at my new favorite vintage boutique, Feathers (read about one of my other favorite Feathers finds). I was immediately drawn to the color combo: a luscious brown that reminds me coffee with good creamer and bright blue.

I was in the mood for a styled, easy-going look that still had a bold element or two. I think the bright, loosely hanging scarf helped me achieve just that. 

I was also in the mood for a new hair style. Lately I've been experimenting with middle parts and braids. My next challenge was working two braids into a figure eight just above the nape.

Fun times. In other news, we are well under the 30-day wedding mark. Kyle and I both feel VERY, VERY busy, but also very, very organized and excited for the day to arrive.

Thanks to all our friends and family who've been overwhelmingly supportive and continuously offered to help. While it's a busy time, everything seems pretty manageable, which is one of the perks of having a really long engagement, I'd say!

5 Fun Ways to Wear a Scarf

I wear scarves pretty much year round. Less so in the summer time to avoid catching sweat scarf, but fall, winter, and spring are my favorite seasons to get scarffy.

While I love wearing scarves, I tend to always wear the same ones, which leaves me with an old and outdated scarf collection season after season. I'd like to change things up a bit and invest in more silk, vintage, and unique scarves. And perhaps one or two in basic colors wouldn't hurt either. 

But here are the scarves I'm loving right now and my five favorite ways to wear them:

Doodads for Shoes

When I tried to come up with a title for this post I thought of "shoe-dads." Turns out someone beat me to the punch and started an entire line of shoe charms and trinkets for Crocs and stuff. Oh well.

I'm starting to think shoes trinkets are becoming a thing. I remember getting excited about fun shoelaces as a little kid, and that excitement is starting to come back every time I rummage around on ban.do's or Anthropologie's websites. I'm loving all the shoe clips and shoe baubles. From bows to poms to little charms to even giant tassels--these shoes are fun!

• Not only did these gold sneakers catch my eye--the giant yellow poms and bright pink socks make for some adorably styled footwear. 
• I REALLY like these kitten heels. I love the way they sort of shimmer, and the orange bows are so sweet. And the best part? They're made in Italy and by a brand called "Butter." I don't think anything sounds more comfortable than that.
• Another ban.do favorite of mine would have to be these darling heart shoe clips. 
• These crimson satin heels caught my eye immediately. The color is so rich and the little buttons are so vintage. I think these would be perfect with a little Mad Men looking outfit. 
• I love the giant tassels on these girls. 
• I spotted these colorful flats a while back. The little trinkets and charms are really cute and subtle. I especially like the little beetle on this pair. 

Which pair is your favorite? I know. It's hard to choose.

Heart of Gold

"Make a statement. Go pop!" 

That's one of the cute tag lines from ban.do, the adorable online shop that carries every accessory I never thought I needed, from headbands to shoe clips to poofy corsages. I have a couple of sparkly headbands that I wear when I want to jazz up my hair do, but I thought this mini heart would be really sweet as a brooch, hair clip, or tote pin. And I had to go for the gold.
