Letterpress and in Love

I just adore the luscious textures of a letterpress piece. We weren't able to letterpress our wedding invites, but I continue to keep my eyes open for a cute print or card with an awesome design that really showcases the art of letterpress.

Jessica Hische

This young "designistrator" is way talented. In addition to design work for some major brands, including Barnes & NobleThe Atlantic, and Target, Jessica has several fun pet projects. My favorite happens to be the Daily Drop Cap project for which she designs new illustrative initial caps every day (or most days) and provides them free of charge for little bloggers (like me!) to use on their sites.

As for letterpress, Jessica has some delightful work for sale in her shop. I happen to love this viney alphabet print. The delicate lines and vine drawings are so precise--they seem so simple on first glance, but after just a moment you start to notice all the intricate lettering and careful placement of each vine.

This ecofriendly print shop features work from TONS of fabulous designers. I loved so many of the designs, but I just picked these two to share.

I love the red and blue of this awesome invitation designed by Patricia Mumau.

And this little invitation by Sarah Hanna is so sweet. The calligraphy is just perfect, making the text so fun to read!

There's a lot more letterpress to love aside from just wedding invitations, like these sweet new address announcements from Spring Olive's Etsy shop.

From another little Etsy shop: these letterpress library cards are an adorable way to keep books in order.

Are you a letterpress junkie? Do you have a favorite letterpress design out there?
