Hey, Red

Is it time to go red? I've been pretty true to dark and brown for years, it seems. And I've been red before, but not red red. I've been chocolatey-brownish-red, chunks of red, and purplish-red, but it's time to get serious, people.

Where on earth is this inspiration coming from? I think it's partly due to hair boredom and the need for a refreshing change in time for summer. The bangs were fine for a while, but I'm sad to say I'm already over them.

I'm pretty obsessed with the following redheads. There's the striking red on Emma Stone, and Christene Barberich's classic red hair + red lips.

What's your take on red and going from brunette to redhead?

  1. I've been red before and loved it, but it was a little like with bangs... once I was over it, I wanted to go brown again, but red is the absolutely HARDEST color to get out of your hair. I think going red would be a fun move on long hair if you intended to go SUPER short later; I've thought about a pixie for years but have never gotten the courage to do it. You totally have the coloring to go red, if you decide to do it! :)

    1. Hey Natalie,

That's definitely something to consider. It seems like I've been trying to grow my hair out forever though!!! We'll see what happens. I really just need a change!

  3. You could totally rock red. I always had designs on the colour but was pretty nervous about making the change. Eventually I gave in to my desires (kinda) by using a temporary red tint. I figured if I didn't like it it would fade, but I loved it! Now I use a permanent 'golden brown' color which isn't too unnatural but still gives my hair a warm slightly red appearance.

    1. Nice! I love how you can do that -- just adding a tint of red definitely makes a difference. I bet it's gorgeous : )

  4. I love red and have done it to my hair many times. That being said, moving into the summer I head back to brown. All the heat and time outside makes it even harder than normal to maintain the red. So do I think you should go red, for sure! Do I think you should wait until the fall, yes as well.

  8. i went from brunette to red about a year and a half ago and i love it. i'm not going back any time soon.
it took about 5 hours with a professional to get it red, but it was worth every minute and every penny. i suggest going to someone who really knows what their doing and is possibly a red color expert.

i think you would look very lovely red! go for it :)
