Summer Lovin'

I'm so in love with the weather! Yes, it's already blistering warm here in Austin, but we're managing with big smiles on our faces. The nice thing about this "spring that feels like summer" is I get to start indulging in all my favorite warm weather things and activities. They're mostly food related, but who can resist an abundance of frozen treats this time of year?

SNOW CONES

Every day I drive by my favorite local snow cone stand called Sno-Beach. Such a tease at 7:45 a.m. We love our Sno-Beach around here, or just snow cones in general. (I realize the term "snow cone" is fairly localized. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, think of shaved ice in a cup covered in the sweetest, most delicious flavoring of your choice.)
J.Crew. Unknown (but I think it's Emerson Fry).

JORTS

You didn't think I was gonna forget about my jorts, did ya? No way. These girls will carry me through the season, and I will do my best to style them in every which way possible. Maybe even with a blazer.

DISC GOLF

I've lost touch with my sporty side over the last few years, but there's something about throwing a rubber disc into a basket on a sweaty summer day that just gets me going. Plus, living right across the street from a pretty great disc golf course ain't so bad. It's a fun little sport and worth a try if you haven't done so already.

POPSICLES

Give me all the frozen treats in the world and I'm your girl. I'm gonna take a stab at making my own batch of popsicles this year, and don't these grapefruit and strawberry ones look delicious? I am all over that.

What are you planning to enjoy this summer?

  1. Those popsicles look amazing! And oh, how I miss snow cones (or raspas, as we like to call them in south Texas).
